December 2, 2015  President Ben brought the meeting to order with the ring of the bell.  Phyllis gave the invocation and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Guest No guest today. Welfare Report Nothing to report. Joke (?) Jokester Ron came up, because of the program today He had to change his original joke and it was short and sweet. Birthdays December Birthday table had a few, Nanci Carroll, Denise  Van Dyne  and  Jess Good  along  with Shawnee coach, Jeff Heistan and two his players. Sally, Nancy, Bunny, Steve and Chuck serenaded the group with the Happy Birthday song.   Announcements Update on Toys for Tots from Bill Lewis. This SAT. is the Truckload of Toys at Walmart on Allentown Road with our Hometown Station and the Marines. Bill said he needed four more people to sing to pass out fliers at the doors. 12:30 to 1:30 and 1:30 to 2:30. Bill said he and Captain and wife were at Meijer this morning and spend $3,000,00 that they donated to us to but toys. President Ben said he stopped be the Salvation Army and they were busy separating and filling bags of a lot of toys.  Ben also said to sign up for the Salvation Army Kettle drive on December 12th at Sam’s Club. Ben also there will be no last meetings two Wed. in Dec. Ben said the Lima Area Youth Orchestra is having a concert this Sunday @ Lima Senior at 7:00pm. The club donated to decorate the auditorium. There was no 1/3 1/3 1/3  drawing today. Sarge Ralph fined Ken Hall for putting November date on attendance form. Ron had to pay for a joke he told three weeks ago. Next two weeks you will want to come! We have Sara Anderson to talk about her new business. The week after that is the Liberty  Arts Show Choir Will be performing for us! We closed with our creed Program President Ben introduced Todd Walker as our announcer for the day to introduce the Girls High School basketball coaches and athletes that they brought with them. Todd Walker said the theme for this year is “Change.” Some schools lost all of their starters from last year. Todd introduced Lima Senior’s coach Vince Holiday who has a chance to win his 100th game tomorrow. Coach Holiday lost four senior starters this year, but they have 31 ladies. They have a tough schedule with schools in the Toledo Area but they are working hard on building the team. Coach Holiday said to come out and see the games, they are fun to watch. Next Todd introduced Jeff Heistan Shawnee Indians Girls Coach. Coach Heistan said in the last two years they have had 13 seniors graduate from the team. They are practicing  and working hard and as they play more games, with time, they will come along. He  mentioned he could not believe Ben was old enough to sell insurance. The coach for Bath Girls  was not able to attend and his Assistant Teresa filled in for him. Todd said he forgets and calls some of the coaches by their maiden names since many of them played in the game during high school. Bath is undefeated with 3 and 0. They  also lost all five starters but have replace with ladies that want keep winning. They not only work on plays but they talk about work ethics, virtues as listening, being respectful and coachable every day. LCC Coach,  Katie Krieg  was not  able to attend the lunch and Jeramie Krieg filled in and told us they lost four seniors and they are having a slow start with 1 and 3 win and losses but invited to cone watch them Dec. 28th  and 29th  at Vicky Mauk’s Holiday Tournament at Elida Field House. Elida Girls High School Basketball Coach, Christy Billiter came up next and they play Bath tomorrow and they are 2 and 1 on the season.  Their goal is to work together as a team and be better than the day before. Todd Walker wrapped up  the program with a plug that you can  download an iHeart application if you want to listen to the out of town games.
